Biography

I was born and raised in the Boston area and completed my undergraduate work at Nasson College in Springvale, Maine. I moved to Salt Lake City in 1976 to ski “for just a couple of years.” I earned my master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Utah in 1985 and am licensed by the State of Utah as a Licened Professional Counselor.

I have worked in private agency settings and currently enjoy a solo, private practice. My clinical experience includes treatment for substance abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, addictive/compulsive behaviors, relationship issues, issues related to sexual orientation and more.

For over 25 years, I have also worked in the health & fitness industry as a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and yoga teacher. The positive correlation between physical health and mental health is indisputable. I encourage my clients to engage in a comprehensive program of self-care that includes: Proper Sleep, Effective Time-Management, Relaxation, Exercise & Sound Nutrition.
